Happy New Year, Everyone!

For us, 2025 is off to a great start, following a magical end of the year spent in Bangkok, always as vibrant and illuminated as ever. The fireworks at CentralWorld, with its giant screens and open-air concerts, was a spectacular show. The children were mesmerized, captivated by the colorful rockets lighting up the sky.

But that wasn’t all. Anaïs had planned a surprise: a dinner at Weaver, a restaurant perched on the 9th floor of a luxury hotel. An incredible culinary experience in a chic and intimate setting, far from our usual globe-trotting routine. Even though the atmosphere was a bit formal, we savored every moment.

Well... on the way out, I cheerfully shouted "Happy Birthday" to the chef instead of "Happy New Year". How embarrassing...

To top it all off, we had booked a hotel just a few minutes' walk from CentralWorld. This turned out to be a wise choice, as after Martin, it was Marion’s turn to feel a bit unwell. Fortunately, everyone is feeling better now, and we’re ready to kick off 2025 on the best note.

Chatuchak!

Before leaving this vibrant city, we made a stop at Chatuchak Market, one of the largest markets in the world.

More than 15,000 stalls, divided into sections where you can find everything: clothing, crafts, accessories, plants, furniture, and of course, a vast array of local flavors to discover. It’s a giant maze, where it’s easy to lose track of time… and your sense of direction!

We found a few great items, but Anaïs still regrets not buying those shoes that caught her eye. A good excuse to come back one day! (Between writing this article and publishing it on our blog, the shoes have found their way into the bag...)

Cap sur Koh Samui

New Year's Eve is over, and it's time for a complete change of scenery. We're heading to Surat Thani, where we'll take a ferry to Koh Samui, our first stop in the islands of the Gulf of Thailand.

Koh Samui is a living postcard: white sandy beaches lined with palm trees, turquoise waters, Buddhist temples, and an atmosphere that is both peaceful and lively. It’s also a popular destination, especially during the holiday season. We’re expecting some crowds :-)

For now, we’re finishing our packing and getting ready to take an early morning flight. The kids are excited, and so are we. A new year, a new adventure begins, and we can’t wait to discover everything Koh Samui has to offer.

See You Soon for the Next Chapter!

Thank you for following along and sharing our adventures. Your messages and support motivate us to document every step of this unique journey.

We’ll be back very soon to share our first impressions of Koh Samui… and maybe a few surprises along the way.

Until then, Happy New Year 2025 to all! May your wildest dreams come true. Nuss, Ju, Marion alias Sushi et Martino le dino.
